Rome, June 11, 2026 — Openapi S.p.A., Europe's leading marketplace for certified APIs with more than 400 services, announces the acquisition of a strategic minority stake in Rox Pay S.r.l., an Italian fintech startup specializing in all-in-one payment solutions and Open Banking.
The transaction marks a significant milestone in Openapi's growth strategy. After consolidating its position as a leading provider of APIs for business information, trust services, identity verification, communication services and invoicing, the company is now expanding its ecosystem with a native, certified payments component tailored to the Italian market.
An Integration That Addresses a Real Market Need
Digital platforms, management software providers and development teams that currently use Openapi APIs to automate KYC, KYB, electronic signature processes or access official company data often need to integrate payment solutions separately. With Rox Pay joining the Openapi ecosystem, this gap is bridged: online payments, smart POS solutions, recurring payments and Open Banking services will also become available through Openapi.
Rox Pay will bring to the marketplace a gateway that unifies all major payment methods — cards, bank transfers, payment links, digital wallets, Open Banking services and recurring payments. The company is PCI DSS Level 1 certified, PSD2 compliant and operates under the IC++ pricing model, ensuring complete cost transparency for businesses and professionals.

The platform supports more than 40 payment methods and provides SDKs for PHP, Node.js and Python, along with a fully documented RESTful API and a complete sandbox environment.
