Openapi Easter Eggs Hunt 2026 - We Make Future

On the occasion of our participation in the We Make Future 2026 in Bologna, we came up with something a bit different from the usual. Not just a simple announcement, but an initiative designed to truly engage those who love code, attention to detail… and a touch of irony.

This is how the Openapi Easter Eggs Hunt 2026 came to life: an experience created for the community, where curiosity, attention to detail, and passion for coding take center stage.

Those who identify the highest number of hidden elements will have the opportunity to take part in the We Make Future 2026, experiencing the event together with the Openapi team.

The initiative will take place from April 7 to 21.

What it’s about

During the initiative, participants will be invited to explore three code projects.

The goal is not just to read the code, but to go beyond.

You will need to carefully analyze:

• source code
• commits
• pull requests
• issues

Within these elements, there are intentionally placed details, such as:

• curious inaccuracies
• wordplay
• out-of-context emojis
• special comments (poems, jokes, hidden references)

A mix of development and creativity, where code also becomes a playground.

Objective

The goal is simple: find as many hidden elements as possible.

This is not about development speed or performance, but about:

• attention to detail
• analytical skills
• curiosity

How to participate

To participate, each person will need to:

1. Explore the repositories
2. Identify the hidden elements
3. State how many they found by commenting on the official issue

Important note: it is strongly recommended not to reveal where the elements are located, but only indicate the total number identified.

Recognition will be given to those who:

• identify the highest number of elements by the end of the initiative
• in case of a tie, shared their result first in the issue

After the initiative

At the end of the initiative, participants will be asked to:

• update their comment
• add the elements found (lines of code, commits, PRs, issues)

If a result cannot be validated, the next participant will be involved, always maintaining a transparent and collaborative approach.

An initiative for the community

This initiative was created with a clear goal: to create a moment of sharing and enjoyment for those who work with code every day.

It is not a competition in the traditional sense, but an opportunity to:

• test yourself
• explore real projects in a different way
• actively participate in the community

Among the participants who stand out for their attention to detail and contribution, the opportunity to take part in the We Make Future 2026 will be recognized: some community members may receive access to the event.
